My husband told me yesterday about his OFW friend’s plan to put up an alcohol and cigar store. He said he wanted to invest his money on a stable and profitable business. I cannot fully agree with his idea because with our economic situation nowadays it’s really hard to choose and decide which business can be considered stable and profitable these days. So where to invest our hard earned money today? Hmm I really have no idea. How about you? It would be nice if you could share. :)

The worn out sofa

Last Saturday my daughter’s classmates went to our house to do their school project. At first I was hesitant because I will not be around to accommodate and prepare the snacks for them since I’m at work. But my daughter keeps on pleading so i decided to just prepare the spaghetti sauce and cook the pasta the night before. The following day when I ask my daughter about her classmates’ comment, she said they all loved the spaghetti. And one more comment which i’m really expecting is that they will notice our old worn out sofa. LOL That’s another reason why i am hesitant to let them come to our house, our chairs are limited and though they can still sit on the sofa it’s no longer comfortable.

Anyway, i’m already setting aside some our budget for it and eyeing for contemporary sofas at the mall. Hopefully by next month we can buy the sofa so our daughter won’t feel embarrassed next time her friends come to visit her.

TGIF

Thank God it’s Friday! And today i will file my vacation leave for tomorrow. I really need a break! I think i’ve been working so hard lately and that my work has caused too much stress. Though it has a positive effect because this has caused me to loose weight a little which made me stop taking ephedra diet pills for a while, still I don’t want to look haggard and old because of too much stress. A healthy diet for teenagers

I need effective diets that work for my daughter. But with all the programs being promoted out there today I’m confused on where start.

Anyway, here are few recommendations I found online: a healthy diet for teenagers

Breakfast

A skimmed yogurt or 100 grams of fresh cheese or a glass of low fat milk;
A slice of bread
A fresh fruit, for fructose, vitamins and fiber, or, failing that, a glass of fruit juice.


Lunch

150 grams of fish or lean meat (alternately with two eggs twice a week) for protein
200 grams of green vegetables of your choice.
A small bowl of whole grains and potatoes
5 grams of sunflower margarine
100 grams of fresh cheese
A fresh fruit

Afternoon snack

A 0% fat yogurt
A hot or cold drinks, no sugar or sweetener.

Dinner

A bowl of vegetable soup made at home
150 grams fish or meat in the oven without fat
200 grams of green vegetables with 10 grams margarine for essential fatty acids
A slice of bread
A fresh fruit.

Chest acne

Acne on chest can be really embarrassing, you cannot simply wear a low neck dress, shirts or bikini. For men some cannot remove their shirt while at beaches as they feel embarrassed due to chest acne. I have a niece who’s really troubled by her chest acne. To cheer up your spirits if you are single, I have come up with a list of ten tips for successful cyber-dating and for making February a month to remember for lovers and those in waiting.

Cyber-Dating Tip #1. If you are single, sign up for an online dating site. If you are already online, why not add a second or third site to your list. It is very common these days for singles to be active on 1-3 Internet dating sites at a time.

Cyber-Dating Tip #2. Find a singles party in your area. Many of the dating sites have dances and mixers scheduled all month long. Cupid.com has a Broken Arrow event on February 12th which is held in many cities nationwide and you can win a free trip to NY. NoWaitingDating.com has several events including the "Be My Valentine" dance/mixer in Studio City, CA where I will be personally signing my new book, launching on Valentine's week. Effect of hard water on skin

Are you having problems with your skin? Does your skin seem to be unable to retain moisture no matter how you pamper it? If you find that your skin continues to be dry even after all the work you put into it, the problem may lie in the fact that you have hard water and it is helping to keep your skin dry. Water that is considered to be hard means the water contains a large amount of calcium, magnesium, and iron deposits. If you notice your shower or tub slowly but constantly building up deposits, such as rust, soap scum, and lime, you probably have hard water.

The inability of your water to wash all the soap from your skin aids in drying it out, leaving you with flaky, itchy skin, and clogged pores. Because both hard water deposits and cleansing products are left on the skin, it can also cause your skin to become more irritated and susceptible to damage. Hard water can even cause your skin to become thinner and aggravate skin conditions, such as rosacea.

How to deal with this problem? If you’re using well water, you can easily obtain a water softener to help avoid hard water. Soft water means there are fewer deposits in the water, giving your soap better lathering power and making it much easier to wash off, freeing your skin of excess soap after you towel off and giving you a better chance at softer, more moisturized skin.
