August 29 & 30, 2011 declared as non-working holidays

Here's good news to all working moms like me, this news is as important as giving/receiving birth announcements. I'm talking about the declaration of 2 days non-working holiday this August! ^_^ If you're wondering why is it important, well for mommies like me who rarely have time to spend with their kids, these special days are great opportunity for us to spend quality time with them.

MalacaƱang's has declared August 29 & 30 as non-working holidays. August 29, which falls on a Monday, is National Heroes’ day while August 30 is the end of Ramadan.

Section 2 of Proclamation 84, states that the proclamations declaring national holidays for the observance of end of Ramadan "shall hereafter be issued after the approximate dates of the Islamic holidays have been determined in accordance with the Islamic calendar or the lunar calendar, or upon Islamic astronomical calculations, whichever is possible or convenient. To this end, the National Commission on Muslim Filipinos (NCMF) shall inform the Office of the President on which day the holiday shall fall."

It will be a 4 day long weekend vacation to those who do not have work on Saturdays, isn't that great?! So working moms out there you may now start planning your family bonding activity. :)
