DIY home renovation: laminate flooring

If you’re thinking of home renovation this year particularly on your flooring, consider laminate flooring. This is your best option if you’re already fed up with the stains and water marks of costly hardwood or vinyl flooring. Laminate flooring is more durable, it is water repellant and is hard moisture resistant. A hardwood or vinyl flooring, can be easily damaged or torn out unlike laminated flooring. It can resist your kids harsh run and is also protected against your pet’s sharp teeth. Laminated floor is easy to clean, just wipe with a cloth to remove the dirt and moisture.

Moreover, laminate flooring is easy to install. If you cannot afford to hire a professional to install your floor, then go for laminate flooring. Laminate flooring is DIY friendly, so you can install it yourself. If you want a classic look then wood laminate is the way to go.

I believe laminate flooring comes packaged in tongue and groove planks which will be slotted into each other. Depending on the size of the room, it can take anywhere from a half day to a day to lay the floor tiles. Because the tiles are laminated, this gives them extra strength and protection against wear and tear and marks such as those from high heels which easily dent a natural wood floor.
