My daughter is on her way home now from Manila, she called us early this morning to inform us about their school advisory. Well, it's because of the continuous rain since yesterday and according to news, typhoon “Karen” is likely to intensify into a “super typhoon” but is not expected to directly hit any part of the country. Although Karen is not expected to make landfall, it will enhance the southwest monsoon, which will bring moderate to heavy rains in some parts of the country including Metro Manila this weekend.
PAGASA said, Karen continued to gain strength while hovering over the Philippine Sea but no storm warning signals have been raised as of 5 p.m. yesterday. It was forecast to move north toward southern Japan and Metro Manila will have cloudy skies with occasional moderate to heavy rains and thunderstorms. Meanwhile, occasional moderate to heavy rains will be experienced in Central Luzon, Calabarzon, Mimaropa, and the Bicol region, which may trigger flashfloods and landslides. So to those who are present in areas mentioned above take extra care. Hope you still have a happy weekend!
